baking soda.

I agree with the first poster as well as using vinegar, I wouldn’t even dilute it with water, use it straight.
Worm Farms DIY
Mix 1/4 cup of water with 1/4 of vinegar and just a drip of dish soap. Use this to scrub it out, works great and gets rid of the smell.
Renewable, alternative, efficient energy solutions
Biological Ariel liquid for clothes, borax, or baking soda diluted in warm water and scrubbed onto the spot where the “accident” has occurred. Repeated scrubbing may be needed until the smell has been neutralized. All these products are alkali based and will neutralize ammonia. Most people think that using bleach is the best way to clean and neutralize the smell of wee, but in fact, because bleach is ammonia based, it has a similar based smell to wee and this will only attract cats to go back to that spot to wee again because they think another cat has been there after them to mark that very same spot for territorial purposes and that just perpetuates the wee’ing cycle in the problematic spot.
All the best.
Release Anxiety, Phobias
I agree with what the other people said, but also keep in mind if the urine soaked through to the carpet pad then the chances of getting the smell out are slim to none.

When I had that problem, nothing seemed to work. My aunt told me the best thing to do was pour a one liter bottle of gingerale right on the problem area and it really did the trick. After it dried the smell was gone.

Debbie T is close - you shouldnt use bleach, but not because it is ammonia based. When you mix bleach with ammonia you can get a toxic chemical reaction (much like the gas used in the holocaust). Do a search for “ammonia & bleach” and you’ll find reports that will make you think before using strong chemicals in the home, and especially will make you stop before mixing cleaning products.
Cat urine is ammonia based & will attract your cat back to *** again - so you can’t use ammonia either - it’ll make it waaaay worse!
Now - cat urine out of carpet? This one is easy. I have tried soooo many things to get the smell & stain out - most things I’ve tried either don’t work at all, or the smell comes back, or they are incredibly expensive.
I swear by a recipe I got which I make up myself when I need it. It’s quick & easy to make & wont break the bank and best of all it uses stuff I already have at home.
I got the recipe from - it’s a marriage saver!
I absolutely recommend it - it is the simplest & most effective cleaner for cat *** that I’ve ever found.

You may have to repeat this process several times, but it will do the trick. also be sure to use lukewarm water.
