The one thing i have a problem with the overuse of the term organic. My experience is 90% of those products should just say environmentally friendly, because if you cant safely ingest it its not truely organic, not that i would ingest them.
The problem with just water is it doesn’t clean soap scum. I use scrubbing bubbles myself. It doesn’t irritate my skin or sinuses and sanitizes my bathroom. I don’t use multiple cleaners and you’re right many of the so called organic cleaners fall very far from what they claim they can do.

For general cleaning purposes boiling water will kill most flora and fauna except for the active prion responsible for Mad Cow disease (which doesn’t normally apply to bathtubs).
I wouldn’t recommend it though! Aside from the safety aspect with risk for scalding, the extreme thermal shock and higher than normal hot water heat may ruin the plumbers putty seal around your drain or damage the material your tub is made from over time.
Under normal circumstances a tub needn’t be sterilized. But I suppose if there is risk of sharing with an HIV or hepatitis infected person in the household? Lysol makes a disinfecting cleaner, and bleach works too. Probably can’t really depart from some chemical use for this task.
