Curious Jenna asked:
I would prefer to NOT use harsh chemicals like Liquid Plumber or Draino, even though I know they work really well, because I’ve heard they can harm PVC piping (and who knows what else).

Our shower drain constantly gets clogged with hair and I try to remove what I can, but its neverending. I have a plastic stick-like thing that is supposed to help, but it doesn’t get to the root of the problem.
Any clues on how to clear it?

Put half a cup of baking soda in the drain, then pour 1/2 cup vinegar over it. It will foam and fizz up and so forth but it will also dissolve oils and clear out the pipes.
You can do this about once a week.
