For wood, 1/2 cup olive oil mixed with 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Tap clean cloth into mixture and clean your wood furniture and trim. Always use a clean spot to re-dip into the mixture. Any left should be stored in frig. (Lemon juice cleans, olive oil restores shine. Use once a month for maintaining clean. In between, spritz a little water on a soft cloth to dust. (Baby cloth diapers are great for cleaning, soft and lint free!) Hope this helps!
Home Remedies For Better Health
I find that white vinegar works just as well as Windex for cleaning glass and similar substances. You may wish to dilute it, though.
Baking soda works well for removing coffee stains, and I often use that rather than some of the scrubbing powders because it works without some of the hazards.
I confess, I but recently discovered Borax. But already I’ve found several uses for it, from cleaning the toilet to making baits that will kill ants- and without being quite so hazardous to my pets.
Here is the ant bait recipe that I use- I can’t take credit for creating it though:
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons borax
3/4 cup water
Mix everything together in a small container until the sugar and Borax dissolve. Then dip pieces of bread crust in the solution and leave where you see the ants. The ants will swarm all over the baits and carry bits of it back to their nests. Within hours, you will see a dramatic drop in the number of ants you have, and within a couple of days you will have few if any ants at all.
You may want to see about enzyme cleaners for dealing with pet accidents.
Good luck!

I think you have the basics as far as natural products. Some people have found a steam machine to be quite useful for cleaning and disinfecting without any harsh products. We use white vinegar and water to clean hardwood floors. I also used a solution of 4 parts water to one part white vinegar to remove salt stains from leather boots and stains on car carpet.
