lens cleaner and water for lens of camera?

Got the lens cleaner Dynex and then used two drops of it in the camera lens (cloth moistened first) saw ….., stripes so I used a small amount of water and streads were mainly out , yu can see them only when the point of the lens or in direct light …… do u think that the stripes might be a sign of the layer of the lens that was removed? …. Do u still think the lens is safe and the layer is still on? (The Dynex BTW-containing distilled water and non-toxic glass cleaner) … how can u say whether the layer left? …. Is it getting tiny scratches in the normall and common of the lens?

Dynex lens cleaner? Anyway, I am not sure if that is the way to clean the lens, i.e. drops directly on the front element.
Read somewhere that the coating is applied in vacuum and I don’t think it’s that easy to come off. I had an old lens that (was broken) and I had to scrape it off with a butter knife.
I don’t think you did any harm. Have you tried Zeiss cleaner?

It’s more likely that the streaks are the remnants of the cleaner, not the coating coming off. Your lens is most likely fine. I prefer a dry microfiber cloth. That seems to work well for most occasions. The only liquid I would ever consider using is distilled water applied to the cloth, never the lens.
non toxic cleaner
Every time I’ve used drops on a cloth or tissue, I’ve gotten streaks. It’s their solution streaking. A much better way to clean lenses is to lightly breathe on the lens (say “haaaah”) then gently wipe with a clean microfiber cloth. Works every time.

Why, why, why don’t people ever READ the instructions that come with lens cleaning kits? Or the section in the Owner’s Manual for the lens about cleaning it?
Either will always state: DO NOT APPLY LENS CLEANING SOLUTION DIRECTLY ON THE LENS. APPLY A DROP OR TWO TO A DRY LENS TISSUE.
Hopefully you didn’t damage your lens.
In 37 years I’ve never used a liquid lens cleaner - just a Pentax lens cloth. I have, however read instructions on how to use the liquid cleaner.
One more reason why a protective Haze/UV filter should be on every lens you own. Its better to clean a filter than a lens.
