Usually I use a swiffer wet jet to clean my hardwood but I am looking for something non-toxic since my baby is now playing on the floor every day. Something that will also make the hardwood shine would be great but a general cleaner, non-toxic is all I really require.

I use a 32 ounce spray bottle filled with half water half white vinegar to clean my floors, counters, toys and windows streak free and no residue. I soay as I go with my terry cloth mop and toss it into the wash when I am finished. It avoids over wetting my floors (I have finished marble, wood, tiles and linoleum flooring). The vinegar smell goes away in about 15 minutes once everything is completely dry and it won’t matter if your kids or pets are in the floor or witting in the highchair when you spray it to clean.It is optimal for use on urine as well as it naturally breaks down the ammonia that tells the pet to return to the spot. Vinegar kills bacteria, viruses, deodrizes, sanitizes and cleans things really well.
