Recyle!
Its free and easy. Our trash company provided us with the bins and all we have to do is sort out our trash a bit – placing paper in one bin, glass in another as well as cans (metal) in third.

Good for you – you made a great start. Of course, you should recycle, but I am sure you already know that. Other things that I can think of off the top of my head:
-Buy in bulk (less packaging)
-Buy local produce
-Carry cloth bags when doing any kind of shopping
-Don’t use plastic produce bags (you just bring the stuff home and take it out of the bags anyway)
-Buy less processed foods
-Buy used products whenever possible (check out craigslist or thrift stores or local paper)
-Get your news online instead of a daily paper
-Share with your neighbors and friends (does everyone need a tool that you use once or twice a year?)
-Drive less, carpool, combine trips and do all your errands one one day
-Line dry your laundry
-Don’t use pesticides or insecticides or use only organic ones
-Start a compost pile
-Turn off lights and fans when not in room, turn down AC when not in house, turn off electronics and unplug those that drain small amounts of electricity constantly (anything with a little light or ready-on) Did you know that a fan left on for 24/7 will cost you about $7 a month?!?!
-The biggest one is think before you buy anything – think about if you really need it, will it last or will you have to replace it soon, etc.
Good luck
