Sorry to here of your problems.
Boric acid mixed with sugar is a good killer.
Spread it around the skirting boards and under the edges of the carpets. Try to follow the ants and find their nest or to an area where they amass then put some there as well.
The sugar attracts them and the boric acid kill them.
Boric acid might sound bad but it is no more harmful than salt if ingested. It is also good for fleas and other little bugs and mites.

Ant bites and bee stings are more acidic in nature. For these you want to neutralize the effect of the venom with a paste of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) and very cold water.
Apply straight lemon juice.
A clay or mud paste can also be used to draw out the venom and is usually on hand!
Use a wet tea bag as a poultice: the tannic acid in tea helps with swelling. Black tea is the most effective.
Meat tenderizers contain enzymes when applied as a paste also draw out the venom and swelling.
Put a slice of cucumber over the area, this is especially effective for ant bites!
A poultice using winter or summer savory leaves helps with bites and stings.
To reduce swelling put on a drop of lavender or eucalyptus oil.
A safe way to trap pesky little ants without poison.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup baking yeast
1/2 cup molasses
6 3×5 inch index cards
Mix all ingredients together and then smear a thin layer on each of the index cards. Use a rubber spatula to spread the mixture on the cards. Put the index cards in places that you have seen ants.

You really should call an exterminator hun. If babies are getting bit that isn’t good. I was going to suggest ant traps or ant powder. But when kids are involved please take caution. If you can’t afford Orkin. You can go to your local Ace Hardware or equivalent store they are usually helpful in that area.
