What is the best thing to use to clean a really dirty window on the outside?

kiraalt asked:
There is a particularly bad point in a portion of the window. It’s driving me crazy! I tried Windex but didn’t do anything. What would be clean on the outside and hopefully be able to use to clean the inside too. Do vinegar and water really work? I would prefer a non-toxic cleaner if possible because I have chemical sensitivities. Any suggestions as to a solution and / or a cleaning technique that could be used would be appreciated. Thank you!

I mix up about a half cup of ammonia and about a half gallon of REALLY hot water, and then take newspapers — yes, newspapers! — and dip it in that and then clean the window with that. You won’t believe how sparkling it will look!

Ink for your printer
The person above has the perfect suggestion white vinegar - water and newspapers…..
an old window cleaners tecnique is to urinate in your bucket as there is amonia in urine the vinager and paper should be used to get rid of sheen as a finishing touch.the water you use does not have to be hot because the moment it touches the window it converts to the temprature of the window.

vinegar and newspaper
the Apple Store USA
Vinegar in water and then buff with newspaper but remember to go in the opposite direction to how you buff the inside of the window, then you can see any smears. That way you will know if the smear is inside or outside.

I live in a house full of windows. I have discovered a new product called a microfiber cloth. I think 3M developed it first but there are copycats now. They clean everything!!! I use a wet cloth to actually clean off the dog slobbers and fly specks and then use a clean dry cloth to buff it shiny. There’s no film, no smudges! Buy the cloths in packs of six at the autosupply area of a department store. They also sell them in autosupply stores, Costcos, etc. For a specific problem try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I haven’t found anything yet that it won’t remove.
Try a Mr. Clan Magic Eraser. Then when you get the junk off of it, use your windex to polish it up. Those erasers get anything off.
